Since 2012, the day before the Victory Day parade, a charity concert "Songs for a Soldier" has been held. In 2012 - 2019, the concert was broadcast live on ETV and shown on June 23rd before or after the Victory Day parade. In 2020, Kanal2 aired the concert.
The show always takes place in the same city as the Victory Day parade. In addition to the TV broadcast, seen all over Estonia, we also want to bring joy to the local audiences. So far, the concert has been enjoyed by audiences in Pärnu, Haapsalu, Võru, Rakvere, Kärdla, Valga, Tallinn and Tartu. In 2020, the show was to reach Paide when, due to the corona crisis, the events related to Victory Day were postponed by a year. The concert was held in Tapa Army Base for the soldiers and broadcast in television via KANAL2.
The "Songs for a Soldier" concert is an excellent opportunity to draw the attention of the general public to national defence and our veteran families.
The artists are accompanied at the concert by the Orchestra of the Estonian Defense Forces; the singers will perform songs from the Estonian Gold Fund in addition to their popular songs. There will be singers, who are legends themselves, and others, who are taking their first steps on big stages. Audiences of all ages and tastes can share the joy.
